‘Denial, delay and cover-up’: infected blood scandal campaigners react to scathing report

my reaction to the fact that there has been a cover up is that to our community that’s no surprise we’ve known that for decades and now the country knows and now the world knows as well not only are you dealing with infection dying loss of family loss of you years and years of of of that have been wasted on this campaigning should never have happened it should have been dealt with straight away and as I sit here is one of 27,000 blood transfusion victims that’s why Echoes In My Head behind every one of those 27,000 is a family it vindicates my impression that the knowledge was out there our government ignored it couldn’t be bothered with it found it was going to be too expensive I don’t know what their excuses are but this blatantly in black and white says that they have no excuses any apologies that we’ve had in the past have been meaningless because all that they’ve said is that this should never have happened we know that this should never have happened what was your part in it what are you sorry for that’s what the community needs to hear before we can even begin to get closure on this no single person is responsible for this Scandal it’s been the result of generations of denial delay and cover up and I would expect over the coming days and weeks for many more people to come forward and say sorry I’m sorry for my part and if they’re genuinely sorry they will help implement the recommendations that s Brian has recommended today

The victims of the UK infected blood inquiry held a press conference to talk about the scathing report into the scandal. Sir Brian Langstaff, who chaired the investigation, found that the UK infected blood scandal was made worse by cover-ups by the NHS and government

  1. More info about this clearly serious situation would be helpful. I was unaware of any failed medical issues/ procedures in the UK. I would like to know more!

  2. i believe that the organizations that developed a solution to a problem should be praised and awarded but also repromended a person who has ability to skill a profession that creates a solution shouldnt that be awarded as well if something works why change it Cchange isnt chenge unless you change it

  3. Just 5 million to all of the victims and families, meanwhile, 11 million pounds a day to house illegal immigrants in hotels up and down the country. Appalling.

  4. At last ( after 50 years) a great PM has finally sorted out Labour’s infected blood scandal ( Sunak should be awarded a knighthood for this amazing achievement)

  5. Democratic countries have criticized China Russian and others for many years. But what have the democracy brought to civilians in recent years, except freedom of hate speech and high crime rates ?the moral standards is also low in West now.

  6. I am sorry for the many victims but what did people expect? The ruling elite work within a rigid system that was designed to maintain the elitist system and control the masses …that's it mate its no more complex than that. More proof? the ruling elite [including senior council officers] have deep well stocked bunkers to go to in the event of a nuclear conflict and you the people have zero! They say they must survive to maintain society. What society ?when only walking zombies are left in Northern Europe and there are no doctors or hospitals or clean water or food but they are fine in their bunkers that's showing the contempt they have for you all.
