The Introducer Today!?
Wow, some serious Barrel Scraping Today.
[Edit] Wow, I’ve stumbled upon Nige’s arch nemesis in Op u/keNOBi_high_ground

It deed read like a lot of tax cuts AND public spending increases. They included some cursory cost saving measures but it obviously was only going to pay for either/or not both (if they saves anything).
Could be a fun election this time . ‘Labour is haemorrhaging support in Wales, falling from 51 percent at the end of May to 31 percent on June 13, according to the latest YouGov poll. Less than a fifth (19 percent) of Welsh voters think Sir Keir Starmer cares about Wales.’
Why are we only seeing commentary like this from random sites like OP though? They’re spot on the money but this should be being shouted from the rooftops by all serious political coverage of the election. Instead they’re all falling over themselves to give Farage an uncritical platform to spout a load of nonsense. I still find it genuinely unbelievable how the whole Truss debacle, y’know that little thing of the entire underlying assumption behind Tory economic policy being so thoroughly rejected by the very market system its supposed to amp up that it put us into national crisis mode within days of merely being announced, just all happened and then quietly got swept under the carpet never to be talked about or properly analyzed again.
I’m pretty sure if we had a socialist in charge, they started a program of massive nationalization, and it immediately started causing a national economic meltdown, we’d be talking about that for a bit longer than a week or two after the event? In fact it would be seen as quite an important moment in British political development?
They are not a serious party, they are an LLP. They are not doing what they do for the good of the nation, any chance they have at power will just be used by them to make money and connections.
Farage supports trump, need I say more. He needs to go
Haha – that might actually win him some votes from the blazer, chino and Panama hat wearing stalwarts of the rural Conservative associations
if you know you’re not going to win, your manifesto probably won’t make fiscal sense. It’s just to win votes, it’s not like the Liberal Democrats makes sense either, watch both of them walk back a lot in the next election
Yes, but Truss’ policies were not inherently bad. Just from a short term, the financial markets through their chair out of the pram, as Truss policies would ultimately have led to less benefits for the people who control capital, and so they intentionally tanked the markets, to get rid of her.
Why should we be pressured by those who control large amounts of wealth to be forced into fiscal policies that primarily benefit those who control said wealth?
