Yup, LNG doesn’t power up much cities. They just needed for cooking stove. Their 90 ultra-critical coal power plant even emit lower CO2 than LNG power. With carbon capture, they can sell industrial grade CO2 out especially for making hydrogen through processing into methane.
China famously doesn’t have much gas (they even use coal for peaking) so it’s surprising they’d invest in LNG.
