  1. Yesterday Musiala had a great game and also scored a goal and I don’t see any pundit or any media source hyping him. I am sure if this was Bellingham and he would have just made a cross field pass, these people would have already deemed him as best in the world. I don’t have any hate towards Bellingham, he is a talented player. I also know that Bellingham and Musiala are different kinds of players but it just bothers me that Musiala never gets enough attention from these media since nowadays that’s what important to get individual awards.

  2. Any chance Denmark somehow finishes first in group c and we top the group to face England in the round of 16? It would be weirdly poetic to have to prove ourselves in a rematch against England in the round of 16

  3. >FC Bayern has extended the contract with U17 World and European Champion Maximilian Hennig until 2027 and has also loaned the left-back to SpVgg Unterhaching for the coming season.

  4. My two cents on Leroy Sané.

I really like the guy. I think he is fantastic, he’s exciting, he seems to have a great attitude in terms of commitment to the team, he has been a crucial part in the development of Musiala, he is obviously a very popular player in the squad (Bayern specifically but I imagine in the Germany camp as well). I am personally delighted that he is at Bayern and want to see him stay beyond his contract.

But he needs to see a psychologist and overcome these streaks because what happens to him is not a case of him “just not being good enough”; there is something else going on there. There is too much evidence to support the argument that he has the capacity to be one of the best wingers in the world (maybe not to the level that Robben or Ribery were but in the current crop of players, he has the ability to reach an incredibly high level). I guess it’s similar to Renato Sanches – there was this belief that in training he could do things no one else could, brilliant delivery, powerful shot, very skilful and otherwise brilliant but when it comes to being on the pitch, he would struggle. Then along comes Galtier who got the best out of him and then when he played for Lille he was fantastic.

I think what Nagelsmann said about Sané being 100% fit really only applies to his physical fitness. As a whole I think he doesn’t trust his body fully which I get, he’s essentially been hanging on by a thread for the past 4 or 5 months and I imagine that can really impact you.

Potentially an unpopular opinion but I would start him against Switzerland and give him time to get into a game. Whether you like him or not, he is in the squad and so getting him mentally fit and ready is crucial for Germany going the distance. Musiala and Wirtz can be rested so maybe there is the avenue to let Führich and Sané get some time with Füllkrug up top.
