2 French boys are accused of raping a 12-year-old Jewish girl in an act of antisemitism

    Don’t they have parents? What do they teach at school? Is there no moral compass, no law enforcement strong enough to tame those teenagers before they become such brainless barbarians ?

  2. Europe spent 100s of years trying to secularise religion. 

    It took centuries of work, and because religion comes with baked In oppression of women and the powerless it still happens to this day (see Catholic church)

    Europe is now undoing all it’s hard work by letting in religious extremists and refuses to confront and secularise them. Allowing them to spread their poisonous ideology.

    What’s worse is that if left unchecked we won’t even hear it anymore because these groups will become powerful enough to cover it up, just like the church did.

    What is even worse is it drives people to vote for organisations and parties that  are also bent on oppression of the powerless.

  4. I’m gonna not take someone’s word for it until there’s an official statement. A jewish lawyer and leader claims the girl is Jewish and it’s antisemitism, while her religion hasn’t been disclosed at all yet. Not only that, but the boys’ religion hasn’t been disclosed either?

    Either way those boys got way less than they deserve, it’s disgusting.

  19. Some people have asked why I posted this. First, I did a check before posting here and did not see any other submission on this topic on this sub. A user below pointed out that this *was* previously posted and removed as “Local News”, which is why I didn’t see it. Considering this is from a reputable source (AP) in their “World News” section and weighing it against other articles I see here regularly that could also be categorized as “local news”, it seems to be an appropriate submission here.

    As the parent of a young multiethnic child living a few hours from where this event took place, this sort of development concerns me greatly. Also concerning are attempts to deny, dispute and downplay this and other examples of blatant antisemitism. If someone has an issue with the Israeli government, exercise your right to go protest in front of the Israeli embassy. Harassing and attacking individuals, especially children, based on their ethnic background as some sort of reciprocity for the current conflict should not be tolerated.

    I’m also appaled to notice, once again, that no one gives a shit about victims, except when they are a member of a specific abrahamic religion.
