I had a pair of pigeons going at it, banging and flapping in the tree for about 4 days last week….energetic little bastards!! I was surprised not to see them smoking cigarettes after all that action!!
I only find them infuriating because it reminds me that every time a few of my friends back home or my family hear wood pigeons they always comment – “Oh I love the sound of the cuckoo’s in the morning!”
Despite being told the cuckoo makes a shorter, more distinct call….they INSIST that wood pigeons & doves – “Just sound like normal pigeons”.
So to me, their call is a reminder of stubborn people 😂
Woodpigeons call and breed all year long. They don’t just do it at summer. Perhaps you just notice it more then.
