  1. Only drowned people? Way back when the lottery used to be about people killed in traffic, by drowning or otherwise dying prematurely between the eve of midsummer eve and the night of the following Monday when the return traffic finally slowed down.

    So, anyway… between 2024-06-20T12:00:00 and 2024-06-24T06:00:00:

    * 2 killed in traffic
    * 3 drowned
    * 1 stabbed / shot

  2. Fun fact: I’m in a kayaking club and over juhannus we’re told to not even bother calling for public/emergency rescues during this period but to call a taxi instead. Authorities will be far too busy rescuing drunk divers.

  3. 8 drown. 10 traffic accidents, 2 dead. 200 drunk drivers/captains (only caught). 4 stabbings in Etelä-Pohjanmaa. Numerous injuries from playing with fire.

  4. 7 for Juhannus, 15 for the whole summer. Weather is going to be nice enough for people to go swimming alone.

  5. There seriously should be some national raffle or lottery that has this. Like you participate with your bank credentials and you are in. Then it is this same thing where if no one dies, one person is selected to win like 100k . Then again that would have to be tax money so it could be SUPER iffy XD. Someone might drown just to protest it… okay so never mind.
