The crisis over the Northern Ireland Protocol is deepening in Northern Ireland/Ulster.
Under the rules of the Good Friday Agreement, if Paul Givan resigns, Michelle O’Neill from Sinn Fein must also resign.
This would mean that the government, consisting of the unionist DUP and the republican Sinn Fein, would have failed after only a few months. Paul Given has only been head of government since June.
