*Russia has banned Deutsche Welle, the public foreign broadcaster of Germany. In addition, the Russian Foreign Ministry on Thursday ordered the closure of the correspondents’ office in Moscow and the withdrawal of journalists’ accreditations. This is Russia’s reaction to a ban of its German-language channel of RT.*

*Russia had criticized the ban on their German-language programming by its state broadcaster RT DE as an attack on freedom of expression and freedom of the press, and announced a response. “The situation is perfectly clear: a Russian mass medium, I would even say an international mass medium, is banned from broadcasting in Germany. This is nothing but an attack on the freedom of speech,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, according to the Interfax agency.*

So Putin seems really angry about this. He will close DW’s Moscow bureau, kick out all staff, take the channel off air and label DW ‘foreign agents’. He will also bar unnamed German officials.

It only proves how much they rely on RT for their dissemination of disinformation and propaganda.
