Nation left shocked as yet another Tory accused of breaking the law to line their own pockets

1. *The Gambling Commission is investigating a second Tory election candidate for betting on the general election date, leaving the general public shocked to their core that someone in their position would consider breaking the law to line their own pockets.*

   *“I am shocked. Shocked I tell you,” explained voter Simon Williams.*

   *“If it’s not some form of sexual assault, or groups of them breaking lockdown restrictions, it’s helping themselves to £200m of taxpayer funds for useless PPE.”*

   *Meanwhile, a Conservative spokesperson has spoken out in defence of all the illegal activity undertaken by those in their ranks, insisting voters should not be concerned.*

   *They told us, “Sure, I get that it looks bad that every time a Tory gets into a position of power, it looks like their first instinct is to ask themselves, ‘How can I use this opportunity to enrich myself personally’ – but the reality is, these missteps often took literally minutes.*

   *“Do you know how long it takes place an illegal bet at the bookies? Two minutes. Tops.”*

2. Who on earth is shocked at this?

   I’d have… bet… on it being the case that a lot of Tories that knew did something like this. I’m just certain not all of them were stupid enough to bet themselves or make their wives bet. They got someone seemingly unrelated to them to bet.

3. Lmao given they’re so happy to turn a quick buck doing something as stupid as this I’m 100% certain that insider trading is rife in parliament.

5. I know this is a joke but I saw a Times Radio clip of Tim Montgomery, founder of Conservative Home, absolutely apoplectic yesterday, carrying on like he had seemingly never actually met a conservative before. 

   It was genuinely baffling.

9. Out of interest, say you had some inside info on something, would you not be tempted to place a bet on it if the odds were good? We are all taking the moral high ground on this, but i wonder how many would be tempted in similar situation.

   Obviously you try and hide it by getting a mate to place the bet, not place it yourself like these clowns appear to have done

    There is evidence. It’s a crime. Put the guy in jail.

13. Why are the public so apathetic to this? We would be fined/jailed if the shoe was on the other foot.
