Was browsing through vegvesen EN website, and found that Elbil can use the bus/tax lanes?

https://www.vegvesen.no/en/traffic-information/along-the-road/norwegian-traffic-rules/the-public-transport-lane/

These vehicles may also use public transport lanes:

electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles

This question is independent of the recent and specific decision to (temporarily) disallow electric vehicles on the eastbound E18.

Based on the text, are EV supposed to be permitted on the bus lanes in downtown Oslo?

  1. It varies from kommune to kommune. In Oslo you are, from only a short while ago, not allowed to use the bus/taxi lane for EVs. It’s unlikely to return. Currently they are discussing letting commercial trucks use the lane instead

In Trondheim, you are still allowed to, for now

Basically, on an overarching level, it’s allowed, but every kommune can choose to disallow it

  2. According to https://www.tu.no/artikler/na-blir-det-forbudt-for-elbiler-a-bruke-kollektivfelt-i-oslo-og-akershus/546478 EVs are not permitted in bus lanes in Oslo at all.
