  1. This would likely be the real reason Varadkar stepped down. His flagrant violating of the law did indeed end his premiership, but in true Irish establishment fashion he managed to cling on for years while our media got in lock step behind him.

    That three governing parties stamped their names to a cover-up of this issue makes the situation untenable. This government has no further mandate.

  2. So what does this mean?
    Does this mean SIPO must now investigate it?
    What does that mean?

    He may not run again. Even if he runs again, what will it mean? What powers does SIPO have? They can say, “ooooh you were naughty” and that’s it?

    It was the Garda investigation that was the key one. Once they said they weren’t proceeding, this story was done, no?

  3. I wonder did Murphy get free legal aid for this case as well.

    Next question is how long will it take sipo to investigate and actually return a decision.
