Is there a single policy or decision that they’ve instigated that unequivocally benefits the next generation or their kids?
Over a decade of shitting from upon high on anyone but their mates, oligarchs and pensioners .
It’s going to be interesting seeing the views shift from all the boomers at the moment who blame Labour for everything that happened 40 years ago to the current generation who will blame the Tories.
Will be even more interesting to see where their votes end up as Labour aren’t really proposing anything new that will make a difference to their lives either.
They should have a look at the vote share of the Lib Dems (and the electoral performance) to see what that actually means.
There’s is no easy answer to this though. The population has grown by six million and house building simply hasn’t been able to keep up with demand. Everyone is promising to build more and faster sure but what about the infrastructure needed to support these plans. Go look in Spain or Cyprus or even Italy and see what happens to housing estates that were built without the infrastructure to support them. We can’t even find the money to put tarmac in potholes ffs
42 years old here. The only good policies that I can think of in my lifetime that have actually done some general good and from which I have directly benefitted have been the following:
* Sure Start Centres (Labour)
* National Minimum Wage (Labour)
* Investment in renewables and batteries (Lib Dem part of the coalition)
* Investment in walking and cycling infrastructure (Conservative)
Meanwhile, if I listed the policies that have screwed me over, it would be a long list of Conservative policies.
So tell me, after all that and the utter clusterfuck of the last 14 years should I EVER vote for them?
