I hadn’t heard of this 2015 incident before.
I remember the Turkish foreign minister being denied entry into NL because she wanted to campaign within the Dutch-Turkish community and convince them to vote for Erdogan in the 2017 elections. The Dutch government’s response was: “Go campaign in your own country.” This earned us the predicate ‘fascists’ and ‘Nazis’ by mr. Erdogan himself.
He got over his little tantrum now, though. He endorses Mark Rutte to become the next secretary general of NATO.
Eh, it’s an easy mistake to make 🤷🏼♀️
