Hei All & happy juhannus!

I had to change my midsummer plans quite spontaneously. And will now spend Midsummer with a few friends (all not Finnish) in Helsinki.
Are there any free things or places where many people hang out or do a Picknick?
Like at Ullis or at a beach?
We would still like to celebrate it but our group has quite mixed financials so it would be nice to have something that is free but with a sense of community.

Also I have never been in a big city during juhannus, so I don't really know what to expect.
My experience so far was my friends mökki, and different islands around Turku.

I found this link, maybe it will help someone finding something last minute

  1. Lauttasaari has 2 bonfires. The one in Länsiulapanniemi should have other activities too. You can go swimming there if you like. They might not fire up the bonfire due to drought tho

  2. Seurasaari island is a popular spot for free Midsummer celebrations and picnics.
