Here in Croatia Czech are seen as nice people. Likeable, kind-hearted, good to drink with, Slavic brothers.

But do you know that you guys are kind of a meme here? Every year lots of you get lost while hiking in flip flops, trying to cross from island to island on cheap beach mattress, rowing in the middle of bura etc. Czech tourist is kind of our version of Florida man. Latest incident with ammunition guy will not help.

Do you guys know about this stuff? Can you theorize what could be the cause? Do you have highly individualistic upbringing maybe?

I know that there are careless people in all societies but still…

    Yes, czechs are erm… Not well behaved in general, I always pretend I am not from Czechia and try to avoid other czechs when on a vacation.

    If there is a sign do not enter a typical czech reads it as “you are welcome to enter”. Applies basically to any situation.

    Flip flops while hiking? In Czechia there really is not any wilderness or dangerous hikes or nature in general. If something happens an ambulance is there within 20 minutes max. They don’t realize (I guess?) this doesn’t apply everywhere they go.

    Sorry not sorry, I’m disgusted by the behaviour of my “general” countrymen abroad))) (or even here lol)

  3. Well, our land is kind — “that’s not a country, that’s a garden,” exclaims one classic Czech movie. We don’t have high mountains, or bears, or the sea, so we come unprepared for the dangers.
