  1. ”Yötön yö”, literally Nightless Night, is the phenomena of sun never setting down in Lappland, but also colloquially referring to Midsummer Eve, or Juhannus.

    This song, perfomed by the legendary Finnish actor Martti Suosalo as Ahti in the game Alan Wake II, captures some dark undertones of Finnish Midsummer festivities, including dancing, consumption of excessive amounts of alcohol, and fighting with puukko knives. In horror genre the setting is not unlike in the movie Midsommar, which is set in neighboring country Sweden.
