Major tensions between Fine Gael and Green Party threaten to destabilise coalition

  1. They better keep preventing those roads from being built. It’s time that public transport in the cities are prioritised instead of the car dependent countryside.

And what’s the big deal about converting the barracks into housing? It’s in a very central area and the military could be easily moved somewhere else.

  2. This is a PR trick used in Irish politics for decades, mid term you check the polls then create a fake inter party tension or coalition tension in a government, check polls again. Didn’t work, well lets do the old cabinet reshuffle , etc. The government always goes to the full term.

  3. Bring it dooooown! I always hoped FF would collapse it after hey got their boy in so he wouldn’t be the firdt non Taoiseach leader.

I’m seeing Fine Gael election signage pop up in the last two weeks, I pray to fuck they fall apart.

  4. Couldn’t have anyone talking about a proposal to build more housing when there’s a housing crisis – that’s against FG policy!

  5. >“He should be told, ‘No, this is not happening, end of story’ – and I don’t believe the residents would wish to see that being used as a location for social housing.”

Never takes long for the classism mask to slip.

  6. What a lot of people aren’t considering is that there are more than enough FFG aligned indos to keep the government limping on without the greens. If the coalition breaks down, there’s definitely no guarantee of another election.
