  1. I know the wheels of justice move slowly but this is a national security issue. It’s a sign to me of how unhealthy our democracy is currently that the hammer didn’t clobber that orange buffoon immediately. He cannot be allowed anywhere near power again. Whether you like Biden or not he’s the only candidate where there will be a democracy at the end of another 4 years.

  2. She’s found a bit of a loophole. If she never rules on something, there’s not technically anything to appeal. Gotta love weaponized incompetence.

  3. She is going to dismiss the case once a jury is empanelled, and she 100% has the legal authority to do so.

She might get impeached and removed from the bench because of it.. but that simply means she got fired from a government job’s salary to a corporate reward job salary

  4. She must be an embarrassment to the profession amongst the vast majority of those in the judiciary and law enforcement.

  5. I’m serving on a criminal trial jury right now, and the lengths that the judge and court have gone to in ensuring a fair and unbiased trial has been immense and impressive. Clearly that is not happening in south Florida… shameful, really.

  6. In a related story, I want Scarlett Johansson to divorce Colin Jost and marry me.

My odds of this becoming a reality are significantly greater Cannon being removed from the Mar-A-Lago case.

  7. If Trump wins, Aileen is a shoe-in for a Supreme Court justice. Can you imagine that disgrace of a human being on the Supreme Court?

  8. Remove her and deal with however it delays it.

She’s absolutely going to delay it as much as she can, anyway, she already has.

  9. It’s a national security breach .. the man is a treasonous pos and the fact she was appointed by the defendant broke the arc of justice.

  10. > Harry Litman, a former federal prosecutor and Democrat Party supporter,

It’s the *Democratic* Party, you fuckwads.

I knew Newsweek wasn’t really a news organization anymore, but to repeat the stupid right wing misnaming of the Democratic Party is a new low.

  11. I’ll believe it when I see it. Delay, delay, and mor delay. It’s all playing into the hands of Vonschitzinpants.

  12. “Removing here could result in further delays.”

Well not removing her could potentially result in the case being dismissed or paused indefinitely.

I’ll take a chance of a slight delay with a new judge, other a complete dismissal.

  13. It’s simply incredible that anyone in their right mind would be helping Trump at this point or any point for that matter. This fucker is a blatant threat to Democracy no matter where you stand with maybe the exception of Putin and the fossil fuel industry.

  14. If Biden loses, imagine a SCOTUS that looks like the 5th Circuit, with Loose Cannon at the helm. We have to vote blue.

  15. Anyone who actually cares about how the court system is seen in this country wants her gone

She is so blatantly shilling for Trump that everyone can see it and they are losing respect for the courts

Let the courts do their job to decide guilty or innocent

  16. A further delay is better than a dismissal. Remove her.

  17. I want them to search his other properties, there was those photos of them loading file boxes on his plane…

  18. If you care about integrity you would want this obviously bought and paid for partisan hack off the bench ASAP.

  19. Then they should fucking do it.

Their reason not to is because it would further delay the case?

How can you further delay a case that has no trial date set, that the judge has all but accused the prosecution of being audacious for having evidence.

Fukin stop making excuses and remove her.

  20. Who cares that the appeal will cause a delay, it is clear she intends to delay for months or years anyways.

  21. Any judge should be able to be removed from any case, at any time, with or without any reason.

Judges are supposed to be impartial, they should not be concerned with the outcome of any case before it’s been argued, and they should not be concerned about whether or not they are involved in any case.

  22. how many of these people are hidden away in the US institutions? This judge was aparently randomly assigned. what were the chances you’d get one that would throw away her career for the likes of Trump?

  23. Yeah too bad Republicans are in charge of the judiciary

  24. Remove her now! It is beyond clear she will not permit the case to proceed before the November elections. If Trump wins, it’s a moot point. If he loses, who cares if things get delayed a bit, the facts speak for themselves. Longterm the important thing to destroy Trump Inc..

  25. This woman is a complete nightmare and should never have become a judge. She is beyond out of control. This is the caliber of idiots you get on the judiciary with a person like Trump.

I admire and like Joe biden, no ifs and buts. He has been an incredible president and I wish him good speed in the next election.

  26. I am not a Biden fan, but I prefer Joe than someone who will destroy our democracy.

  27. Aileen Cannon is an embarrassment to the Florida Bar.

Those of you who are lawyers and know anything about the general membership of the Florida Bar will really get that.

  28. Let’s go then. This crazy fucking stool pigeon has been shoving her gavel where lady justice does not consent. I’m done with it. Corrupt. Biased. Unethical. Incompetent. Vamonos.

  29. I personally think Biden is doing great! Market at record highs, crime dropping, people are spending, and our democracy is much stronger with Biden in office.

    We can’t go back.

  30. > “Why doesn’t Jack Smith DO ANYTHING?”

It’s definitely a fair question…but at the point that we’re at now, it’s all about “lining up ducks in a row.” As of a few weeks ago (according to the “legal eagle” punditry), if Smith wanted to petition to have her removed at this point, it probably wouldn’t have worked. New developments may have changed that, but it’s still not guaranteed.

All along, the fly-in-the-ointment is that Cannon has slow-walked all of her pending motions, and those pending motions would usually have to be reconciled before Smith can have the best possible chance of trying to get her dismissed via the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. **Jack Smith’s hands are more/less figuratively tied until she rules on those motions.**

Realistically, a judge can be eventually bounced because they’re unfit for the case…but not because they’re “taking too much time” with sorting out the motions (unless it’s an unreasonably long amount of time). The fact that Cannon keeps enthusiastically stepping on all of the rakes is definitely changing things in real-time, but not all of the motions have been reconciled, and the DOJ wants to keep things as neat and streamlined as they can when they take their shot.

**It’s obvious that this malicious compliance is all by design, and odds are pretty good that Cannon will get skewered by the 11th because of this**…but that doesn’t change the fact of where we are right now in the process.

According to Cannon’s own timetable, these motions aren’t supposed to be decided until around July. It’s likely that her “crawl-not-walk” approach is likely going to result in this trial not happening before the election…but unfortunately, it is what it is.

**TLDR?** If this was a high school exam, Cannon is still filling out her Scantron. We won’t know how hard she’s flunked the exam until she submits her work….but odds are getting more and more likely that she’s completely boned her chances at staying on the case.

  31. She should have been dismissed from this case months ago!😠

  32. Meanwhile North Korea, Russia and Iran pat themselves on the back. Trump has normalized corruption in America. The courts and rule of law, damaged. Elections are now questioned. The crazies are given legitimacy.

  33. They say removing her would delay the case, at this point in time I’d cut my losses for a chance to get an actual judge who could do their job. knowing we’d go to trial for sure some point down the road.
