(Throwaway for obvious reasons)

I am currently on type A permit since 4 years. I was fined for a traffic violation which was of criminal nature (found guilty of endangering traffic safety). The fine was equivalent to 14 day fines. This was my first traffic offense. I know that one has to spend atleast 2 years after the crime date to be eligible for permanent residence. My question is, does this 2 year period also apply for citizenship application?

As per https://migri.fi/en/integrity anything less than equivalent to 30 day fine may not result in refusal but one might have to serve a waiting period.

I did accept the fine at the spot when they police officer asked me, but have not paid it yet.

Is there a possibility of going to court for a reduced / non criminal offence?

Can anyone who has a personal experience with something of similar nature please comment?

Thankyou!
