That is a lovely looking specimen. But I don’t think it’s a sand lizard.

It’s a common lizard…which is also pretty cool and sadly not that common.
A sand lizard looks stumpier and is the most ridiculous colour (toxic slime green) during breeding season

I’ve seen one half that size. I’ve also seen a few adders with babies and a smooth snake swimming!

I saw one on a wall in a village between telford and Wolverhampton a few years ago – never saw one before that or since
I live in the UK and have never seen an actual lizard in the wild!
