UK politician Farage says Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was provoked by EU and NATO expansion

I stood up in the European Parliament in 2014 and I said and I quote there will be a war in Ukraine why did I say that it was obvious to me that the ever Eastwood expansion of NATO and the European Union was giving this man a reason to his Russian people to say they’re coming for us again and to go to war you were echoing him I was sorry you were echoing him that’s what Putin says no no no no no sorry I’ve been saying this actually actually since the 1990s ever since ever since the wall but hang on a second we’ve provoked this war it’s you know of course it’s his fault he’s used what we we Prov the invasion of and very interestingly once again 10 years ago when I predicted this by the way I’m the only person in British politics that predicted what would happen and of course everyone said I was a pariah for daring to suggest it George Robertson former labor cabinet minister who went on to become the Secretary General of NATO has in the last couple of weeks said the war is a direct result of EU expansion ask you because it’s your judgment you want to be prime minister let me ask you someone else my my judgment has been way ahead of everybody else’s in understanding this my point is this there were two realistic expectations from brexit one we control our borders and reduce the numbers coming in they’ve exploded they’ve trebled to to numbers you can’t even believe and secondly and that’s because of a conservative government that didn’t even TR try because their big backers want cheap foreign labor stick with the economy for the moment yeah and secondly it was a realistic expectation indeed when rishy sunak was became prime minister he was going to scrap 4,000 EU laws he then bin that policy so we’ve not seen the simplification of Regulation yeah

Reform UK party leader Nigel Farage said on Friday that he believed Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was “provoked” by the eastward expansions of the European Union and NATO.

Farage made those comments during an interview on the BBC.

Farage is again 100% correct. western nations promised Mikhail Gorbachev and the Russian people that NATO would never expand east not one inch and echoed by George W H Bush!!! what happened NATO expanded east right up to the Russian boarder. so what did our dear leaders expect of Putin and the Russian people just lay down and except there demise, they would fight and rightly so.

Hi has a point check out what they agreed at the end of the second world war the west broke there promise What we have in farage is an honest man not like the rest who will tell you what you want to here then promise you everything with no intention to deliver WAKE UP before its to late our country is busting at the seams with all these people VOTE REFORM another year of this and you can say goodbye to our country

  23. Farage is right. If the situation was reversed, the U.S would not allow Russia or any alliance it was with to be so close to its own borders. Russia warned Ukraine not to attempt to join NATO, because it would then mean that NATO was camped right on Russias border, Ukraine ignored Russias warnings, and continued applying for membership.
    Russia couldnt take the chance of this happening, so it took pre-emptive measures and invaded.
