I don’t like the rest of the Conservative party at all either
We might have that in common
I have something in common with him, I didn’t have sky TV growing up.
He is a privately educated (7% of population), ex Goldman Sachs (highest finance job you can get) and is likely on the list for top couple thousand richest people in the nation. I am struggling to see what anyone has in common with him outside of Canary Wharf directors.
And I say that as a privatelt educated finance guy. Like if I dont relate to him, who the fuck is?
I have something in common with him: I am a huge loser!
This is, to be honest, true of **most** politicians that lead political parties.
It’s true of Farage, it’s true of Starmer, and it’s true of Ed Davey.
That’s both now, **and** when they were teenagers.
I can’t Sunak he’s a useless sack of s**t, but I’d rather not have someone running the county that has commonalities with half the public.
He’s a very poor pm. Most people would also be useless at the job. We are all Richi Sunak.
I think the main issue is that he was brought into power indirectly outside of a general election. To me that feels like a measure that should be scrapped outside of emergencies.
It was legal and a much easier way for him to assume power (the luck of his favored replacement being incompetent aside) but the general public have been left with an impression that this guy is just *there* and noone knows him beyond his covid publicity.
We don’t actually have much in common with most of those who rule us – but processes and symbols matter, and someone who forgoes them will always feel distant.
I wouldn’t say having something in common is a quality I’m looking for in politicians. Looking out for the public’s best interests is though
I’m guessing the common stuff is like organs and a mouth
Well yeah he isn’t white. Which is about the only thing most of the public have in common with the ruling class.
Well yeah , most of us aren’t private school educated, aren’t billionaires , aren’t part of the crew that helped spark the 2008 banking crisis , aren’t married to one of the worlds richest women.
He has zero in common with the vast bulk of us.
Well I can talk a lot of shite as well so there is that
I didn’t have sky TV when growing up, or being as privileged as he is.
The mistake politicians make is thinking anyone one cares. Then they start trying to pretend they are something they’re not and look foolish doing so.
There’s no difference between him and Starmer, they’re both nonentities
I’d wager that close to 100% of people enjoy breathing air. Maybe Sunak does not like breathing air. Much to consider.
He’s a Star Wars fan and pretty nerdy, so that’s two things I have in common with him.
Edit
Oh and I didn’t have Sky TV either so that’s 3.
Steady on, now. I go to Yorkshire a couple of times a year. He goes to Yorkshire a couple of times a year. Practically besties.
I’ve always said that 90% of politicians in government have nothing in common with the people they purport to represent. I don’t recognise their lives. They look nothing like mine or anyones I know.
Sunak is just an extreme example.
IMO politics shouldn’t be a career, it should be a duty. You should be voted in by your community. Depending on your income level before being elected, you get your housing, childcare, food and utilities paid for in your constituency, travel expenses, a room in shared accommodation (think Uni halls) and meals in London if you have to go to town. A national median salary for the length of your term. And that’s it.
It should be easy to serve, but once you have served, you go back to your life.
He is a billonare who can’t use a debit card or fill a car.
Of course doesn’t have anything in common with us plebs.
His wanting to think he is a man of the people is embarrassing.
I would put that tramp Johnson in same category.
Not good time in politics to be honest, farage sell his granny for a pound and sticking up for russia is unforgiveable.
Uk is fucked though not long ago people had principles and hope still in them, making excuses for a dictator is unforgiveable.
sunak is a 50:50 split of Sam the Eagle from the muppets and Will from the Inbetweeners. It’s uncanny
That’s because the vast majority of the population are not massive cunts.
A pulse and maybe a chatty hairdresser with an interest in client’s holidays. That’s probably about it for most folk.
More than half? If I would have to do a more precise guess, it would be more than 99%.
In another part of the survey apparently people are only giving Labour 6 months to fix 14 years of tory destruction.
Pathetic.
“I didn’t have Sky TV growing up”
“I just made the household staff memorize the lines and re-enact Eastenders every evening”
One thing in common: I have a statuette of Ganesh on my desk; I find him inspiring, although I am not a Hindu or of Indian heritage.
But more than half have something in common with Starmer, Davey or Farage?
Almost half of the public think that they have something in common with him?
