Local connections is a new thing for MPs. It used to be common for MPs to not be of the area.
Plus I doubt Reform will win a seat in that area.
I like how it’s done. Rather than a binary yes or no for the area. You can see the Libdem lives close, in fact might even have been in the constituency before boundary changes and the reform candidate can fuck off
I didn’t realise UKIP was still around
Personally it’s one of the things I look at when choosing the candidate to vote for. Not that I’d vote Reform even if it was the only local candidate available.
Nobody likes an interloper.
Not voting for someone unless they’re from the constituency and live there currently.
Looks more like a coupon from William hill
I still can’t believe UK parties are allowed to get away with putting “Scottish” on the ballot
If elected they’re not going to Westminster as a “Scottish” Labour/Tory/LD MP
Wait…am I seeing this right? LEICESTERSHIRE?!
Absolutely ripping the pish.
If they can’t even find a local person to stand, they shouldn’t be trying to parachute in someone who doesn’t have a clue about the area.
Of course, it’s entirely possible that Lisa Judge is originally from Larkhall and has been living down south for a bit, but if a candidate won’t even move to the constituency unless they win the seat, do we really want them? (ignoring the fact that the real reason we don’t want them is because they’re in Reform…)
So, this is the list for Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse. An are with a sizable population and more so in the surrounding areas. From what I can see on the list, there is only one there who is a massive outlier. That in itself is pretty good going.

I’m sure Labour’s candidate Imogen Walker, who happens to be married to Keir Starmer’s campaign manager, won the nomination entirely on her own merit
Who will win in Hamilton and Clyde Valley?
Expecting a close fight between SNP and Labour?
