Found this in my YT recommendations and watched it out of curiosity. Some really handy recommendations in there, but I’m not fully satisfied. What’s missing?
Main points of the video:
1. Don’t choke on the fondue
2. Don’t waste a second on the train
3. Don’t overestimate your mountain experinece
4. Don’t forget to check the weather
5. Don’t get confused with the languages
6. Don’t ever try Swiss German
7. Don’t expect your money to go far
8. Don’t forget to take advantage of the (travel) passes
9. Don’t miss out on some adventures
10. Don’t be too proud to stay in a hostel
11. Don’t break the rules
12. Don’t skip the towns and cities
13. Don’t expect an exciting party centric visit
14. Don’t worry about tipping
15. Don’t assume the service personnel will help you for no reason
16. Don’t use Euros
17. Don’t be loud. Period.
18. Don’t expect to make local friends.
19. Don’t forget to try the Swiss wine.
20. Don’t mix up the “Swiss Cheese” from home with the Swiss Cheese in Switzerland.
Good tips, fair observations I would say. Even learned something new about the city passes, maybe worth checking out for weekend trips.
Maybe a bit too cautious about the loudness and engaging with locals. I don’t think we should embrace “not talking too foreigners” in any way. Can’t say he’s wrong though.
