Nigel Farage criticised over comments on Russia-Ukraine war

Leader of the Reform UK Party Nigel Farage has been criticised by Rishi Sunak and Keir Starmer for his comments on the Russia-Ukraine war.

Mr Farage claimed that NATO and EU expansion provoked the Russian President to invade Ukraine.

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak labelled Mr Farage’s statements as “completely wrong”.

  15. NATO did not provoke Russia, Putin wants to restore the Soviet Union by taking back countries that were never part of Russia, justified with false propaganda of NATO threats on the border. The real threat is a fascist dictatorship with 5500 nuclear warheads on the border of Eurasian countries. Farage is a charlatan and a chancer, just like Trump, who will say anything to get media attention to stay in power.

Russia was asked to provide protection to the Donbass and other areas within Ukraine as the Ukrainian military had been shelling, bombing and launching missile attacks against their own people in those areas since 2004. USA, UK and NATO didn't give a damn about the civilian people of Ukraine during that time and they still don't care now.

  34. Why is it wrong to want defence from Russian aggression? Georgia, Chechnya now Ukraine. You can't argue in one breath that Nato countries have underspent on defense and paint it as a dereliction of duty, and in the same breath argue that the same Nato countries provoked Russian aggression by threatening them. A naked grift. I agree with reform on almost all points they claim to support, but on the issue of Ukraine Nigel is 100% wrong, and shows himself to be strategically illiterate.
