Troops from North Korea could join the invasion of Ukraine under a new pact with Russia, experts warned, According to Daily Mail media outlet, analysts agree that the arrival of thousands of Kim’s soldiers on Russia’s front line would be a game-changer in the conflict, significantly strengthening the Kremlin’s hand. North Korea is also expected to supply Russia with a further five million ammunition rounds – having already supplied as much in recent months.
Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un have signed an agreement pledging that Russia and North Korea will help each other in the event of “aggression” against either country.
The pact cements a rapidly blossoming partnership that has worried the West. It could also have significant ramifications for the world, say observers.
Any kind of mutual defence treaty could possibly see Moscow assisting Pyongyang in a future conflict on the Korean peninsula, while North Korea could openly help Russia in its war on Ukraine.
The treaty is likely to anger Seoul, which had ahead of the meeting warned Russia against going “beyond a certain point”.
National Security adviser Chang Ho-jin had told his Russian counterpart that Moscow “should take into consideration which among North Korea and South Korea will be more important to it, once Russia ends its war with Ukraine”.
Rachel Lee, a senior fellow at the Stimson Center think tank’s Korea programme, said any such treaty would have “significant implications for the region and the world”.
Former British Army intelligence expert Philip Ingram said: ‘I do think North Korea probably will supply troops as part of the new defence pact. This is very worrying. They will add numbers but how adaptable they will prove on the battlefield remains to be seen.
‘Russia’s tactics have been so primitive, sacrificing vast numbers of soldiers in the so-called ‘meat grinder’. The Kremlin is probably more interested in quantity of personnel rather than quality.’ Meanwhile, ex-British Army commander Colonel Hamish de Bretton-Gordon suggested Kim could exchange soldiers for nuclear technology. He said to Daily mail that iIt would show how absolutely desperate they both are; Putin for troops and Kim for knowledge.’ North Korea’s People’s Army is believed to consist of up to 1.3million active personnel. The majority are engaged in the country’s historic stand-off with South Korea.
After suffering some 500,000 casualties in Ukraine, Russia needs to bolster its front-line forces. The arrival of North Korean troops would further reduce Ukraine’s chances of reclaiming its eastern provinces of Luhansk and Donetsk, which have been held by Russia since early 2022.
Washington and Seoul have been increasingly alarmed by deepening military cooperation between Russia and the North, and have accused them of violating international laws by trading in arms for Russia to use against Ukraine.

😂😂 now France can conviently join
The CIRCUS is getting Nastier..
it is important to remember that war also has its long-term consequences and even deeper condolences.
those who really want war, never use diplomacy., it will fail.
South Korea would definitely join Ukraine too.
😂 The little putin is running out of his drunk criminal soldier😂
Presume 90% of Fat boy's troops will defect
Will only happen if Pootin pays in hard currency so Kim can take his cut for luxuries and nuclear expansion. No funny rubles please.
The only thing Kim will accomplish with his army, is making North Korean mothers mourn their sons.
The People's Army is a Potemkin army.
We could see North Korean commandos in Ukraine if the French and baltic states are sending troops.
What happened to the supposed 2nd most powerful military in the world now asking for troops from North Korea, lol, what a loser!!
Путлер е малоумен клоун… 🤣🤣🤣
🤔🤔There is a dispute in North Korea between Putin and Kim. Putin has demanded to buy 1000 long-range missiles for little money. Kim promised him 500 but for a lot of money. Putin is angry about this. And there will be more disputes. Because China is the protector nation of the North Koreans. Without China, no business with other states can take place. And China is afraid of publicly interfering in the war (all lies by the Chinese).
China is playing the "wolf in sheep's clothing" here, as they say in Europe. It pretends to be "lamb" but is in reality the wolf, and certainly🤔🤔
Let them join Russia so they'll how fierce Ukrainians are and with US supplied weapons.
No chance they'd all defect 🤣
North Korean troops look pale, skinny and weak. They clearly suffer from nutrition deficiency, poor North Korea
Get small things out of the way. Let's have big things going. I mean big bangs and beautiful flashes. Life is boring
But Russia cries about Nato troops entering Ukraine 🇺🇦
Warmongering liar
Why is US the world strongest military looking for coalitions against a small Yemeni Houthis militias….?
41 US and NATO nations fighting Russia alone for more than 2 years
I doubt Kim will trust any of his troops outside of the country.
N Korea cannot feed their people at home. In what fantasy do they think they can supply soldiers 1/2 across the planet? One way is for sure. They are intended to not need supplies as they will be cannon fodder. No way this would end in anything short of nightmarish horror.
😂 skinny, malnourished North Koreans?
They’d last about 15 minutes then they’d all desert 😂
If Nth Koreans fight then NATO soldiers can fight.
Or they could just take the opportunity to escape from N Korea into Europe by surrendering to Ukraine.
If North Korea sends troops, then the door is wide open for Nato to send troops.
