We must discourage cannabis, but first we have to legalise it

  1. I’ll never understand how we so freely sell alcohol in society with the damage it causes but still look at cannabis as this deadly mind altering substance… 🤦‍♀️ I smoked for years… I only quit to be more healthy but when I’m older I defo plan on taking it back up because why the fuck not…

  2. Legalise it and the money raised through taxation should be used for education and health services.

Its use should be discouraged ,same as alcohol, smoking ,vaping etc.

Cannabis use isn’t going to stop so only makes sense to Legalise and take its sale and profits away from criminal gangs.

Guards and court time wasted bringing charges against holding miniscule abouts of the drug.

Unfortunately, when it’s legalised I doubt the revenue will be used correctly but most likely wasted like so much in this country.

  3. Criminals aren’t going to stop selling it just because it’s legalised. In Canada for instance 30% of all marijuana is still sold by gangs as they sell it for cheaper. Younger people and those who believe it is harmless will buy it from these.

  4. Once it’s restricted for use in public areas.
we don’t to replicate the likes of New York or Amsterdam. The streets are polluted from the stink of it.

  5. Initially misread this as “cannibals” and thought I was in for a much different read.

  6. It’s mostly legalised in America and things seem to be going great over there

  7. Weeds bad for your brain and absolutely a gateway drug. Cheers

  8. Treat cannabis like we do alcohol, then at least there will be less fighting and trips to A&E.

  9. Lived in California for years where it’s legalised, and worked as a barman here and there. Drunk people have thrown bottles at me, pulled knives on me, thrown up on me, and I even had a gun pulled on me.

Worst I’ve had happen to me when dealing with someone stoned is that they started crying when we ran out of free peanuts, before saying sorry over and over and asking me to call him a taxi.

The sheer amount of lies and stigma about it in Ireland is amazing to me.

  10. A guy I knew a few years ago told me this story;
He was in the Dáil bar, place is packed. A bell goes off and almost everybody leaves. So he asked the barman what’s going on. Turns out all the TD’s went in to vote.

And not one word said about it. Hypocrites.

  11. Legalise and regulate it. The stuff going around now is an problem because it has too much THC. Regulate and make sure the only stuff sold has less THC is balanced between THC and other cannabinoids.

It’s well documented in scientific literature that balanced cannabis is healthier.

Can you imagine if gangsters controlled the drinks market? Your next drink could be lethal. People are going to smoke/use it. Take it out of the hands of gangsters.

Allow anyone to have 3 plants with limits on THC as above. Open dispensaries for people who can’t grow and sell for a fair price.

  12. As a Canadian all that changed was the government became our biggest drug dealer. It’s treated the same as alcohol and tobacco. When it’s regulated you at least know what your getting
