Sunak and Starmer in agreement over Nigel Farage’s Ukraine war comments

we are recording for most of this campaign these three political leaders have tried to avoid talking about niga farage today though he was front and center of their attacks after the reform leader claimed it was the EU and NATO who helped incite Russia’s invasion of Ukraine prime minister who’s watched on as reform poll numbers have started to overtake his own he hopes that farage’s comments may make undecided voters think twice what he said was completely wrong and and only plays into Putin’s hands this is a man who deployed nerve agents on the streets of Britain who’s doing deals with countries like North Korea and this kind of appeasement is dangerous for Britain’s security the security of our allies that rely on us and only emboldens Putin further for the labor leader at a win Rush Event in London he launched an equally Punchy attack farage’s comments about Russia and Ukraine are disgraceful I’ve always been here that Putin Bears responsibility sole responsibility for the Russian aggression in Ukraine and we have always stood behind Ukraine and supported Ukraine and so far we’ve done it United across Parliament the lidm leader didn’t exactly walk on eggshells in his comments either I don’t share any values with uh najel farage uh this is another example but my message is the British people uh we need to support the Ukrainian people uh this is a time of deep insecurity in our world farage’s Commons are not new they’re part of a political calculation in the midst of a general election campaign some will agree with them many might feel uncomfortable but for a politician who likes to rail against consensus this is a row he won’t mind having

Political rivals Rishi Sunak and Sir Keir Starmer were both in agreement today over their condemnation of comments made by Nigel Farage.

The Reform UK leader was criticised for claiming that NATO and EU expansion provoked Russia into invading Ukraine.

He argues his warnings date back to 2014 when he was a member of the European Parliament.

But Mr Farage’s opponents have accused him of “playing into the hands” of Vladimir Putin. Sky’s Darren McCaffrey reports.

  1. Starmer and Sunak are running very scared. Farage's remarks, taken in context, were perfectly accurate and worthy of careful consideration rather than instant and uninformed condemnation. The attempted hatchet-job on Farage by Panorma's Robinson was a broadcasting disgrace. Try watching Demirep's take on it! (Granny Opteryx)

  2. Clearly Russia was provoked but that is not an excuse. Ukraine has the right to determine it's own future whether it aligns with Russia's goals or not.

  3. Labour and Conservative prefer to give us bland comments which don't admit the truth. Farage has been misrepresented by the mainstream media. Big Brother is alive and well.

  4. We are supplying Ukraine with everything for free, while Home grown Brits can't get a house and can't afford to feed then selves . Where's the
Priorities ??? to those brits paying taxes monies then given away to a dodgy state like Ukraine.

  5. Funny how countries that aren't funding wars are stable. UK should do the same, stop finding illegal wars, Palestine & Ukraine.

  6. When political parties have organised groups to post propaganda and spam thumb it,
it shuts down real debate and acts as a platform for Putin funded propaganda.
People stop commenting and becomes a platform for dogma.

  7. Of course they are in agreement, they will do anything to blacken his name. Incidentally, he is absolutely correct, the US arms industry have been provoking conflict all over the World since WW2, good for business.

  8. So dumb for a UK politician to act as a platform for Putin propaganda.
Honestly exasperated: Putin has targeted civilians; bombed, raped, poisoned and murdered.
We know appeasement is incredibly stupid and dangerous.

  9. Are there idiots in these comments or Russian trolls? Either way the vast majority know the truth, reform will have 1 mp, at the very most, and not the serial failure ryhmes with garage

  10. I am not sure if Starmer and Sunak know they are lying or they are so stupid they don't realise that the Americans have deliberately triggered the awful situation in Ukraine, They should just watch the video on YouTube by Robert F Kennedy Jr entitled "We provoked the Ukraine War " and see if they can spot the one error.

  11. Whatever Farrage said was the truth the West poked the bear once too much,Nigel most certainly doesn’t share the views of these three puppets

  12. About time a political leader tells the truth
    🇬🇧 reform 🇬🇧
Labour conservatives Lib Dem and their MSM masters are running scared, their time is coming to an end Britain just might become great again

  13. Don't they Hate the truth. Nigel has the Ordacity to speak as he finds. How dare he go against us. We Politicians don't like it when another Politician goes rogue and exposes us for what we are and what we stand for. What next Blair talking about Weapons of Mass destruction. Starmer talking about Jimmy Saville. Davy talking about Sub-Postmasters. Rayner talking about Housing benefit.Snouts in trough springs to mind

  14. Farage economics has been compared to Liz truss economics that crashed the economy. This would scare the financial markets. Inflation would go back up.

  15. Bots from putin's troll farms spread masses of disinformation online during the 2016 eu referendum and helped Leave to win – bots from putin's troll farms are now spreading masses of masses of online disinformation in support of Reform. Bots from putin's troll farms have also spread masses of disinformation online about the war in ukraine (think there's a pattern emerging here 😉).

  16. Oh my, Sunak and Starmer once-again with no difference in opinion between them, who could have predicted that? 🙄

  17. The establishment are desperate to keep this a 2 horse race and are feigning mock outrage as it’s true NATO have been expanding outwards and Putin has been warning about a response ever since his Munich speech in 2007. The same people who say countries can do what they want probably laud the US’s behaviour during the Cuban missile crisis and can’t see any problem with them having over 750 military bases around the world, brainwashed into thinking it’s to spread freedom and democracy rather than preserve their hegemony.

  18. Really is laughable how they are trying to smear farage after his comments on Russia.

It's obvious that the expansion of NATO is one of the reasons that Putin feels threatened, I think he even says that in his interview with tucker carlson. He doesn't want what he sees as Russian land to join Europe.

Farage was right in what he said, wake up!

    Vote Reform

  19. Ukraine and Russia are as bad as each other. NATO and the EU have been goading the big ugly bear by using the little ugly bear for years.

  20. What about india killing people in western countries Mr Sunak what have u done about that??? Ur very worried about russia u should b worried what ur father over in india is doing

  21. This shows the depth of servility to the US Mafia States unprovoked attack on Russia through Ukraine, they both know the truth but choose to lie through their teeth about it.

  22. Go on Nigel, at last someone who tells it as it is, let's go back to 2014, the coup created by the US, UK, UN to remove the then leader and replace him with that actor Zelensky, and then the Russian population started getting attacked etc, how do people not know the history, that's why the Russian went in firstly back in 2014, and so it carried on, look at all the debt the Ukraine are in now, they have to protect their investment even though every tax payer is paying for it, enter Inflation etc
