Wondering why this type of navigating isn’t common in other cities?

I lived in Germany for my first months in Berlin and it was so easy for me and my friends to find our way to other stations because of this chart.

Once we moved to other cities, it kinda bugs me that this isn't common (if there is a map like this, it's usually small and hidden behind the glass panels at the stations)
