Tourist stopped from vandalising Pompeii site

1. “A tourist from Kazakhstan was stopped on Saturday morning by security and reception staff while he was carving the letters ALI on a light-coloured plaster in the House of the Ceii in the Archaeological Park of Pompeii.

   The tourist was reported to the Carabinieri, and will be questioned on any damage caused following an assessment of the plaster.”

3. Jail them for a short time (2-3 days maximum) and fine them into oblivion. Make them decide between a flight home at 4am with a 48 hr layover due to cost and paying the fine. And then, mark them so if they ever do come back they are banned from the site permanently. Stop destroying historic monuments.

4. What the fuck is the idea for these mouthbreathers. Are they going to return to Pompeii with their kids in 20 years and show them how dad vandalized this historical landmark.

5. Go to Stonehenge. You can throw paint and stuff there and you’ll get away with it. 😡

7. Tourists that do this kind of things should be fined and their VISA revoked with a minimum of 10 years travel ban IMHO.

8. Fine them x times the amount to fix this, Kick them out of the country and life time ban them from entering the EU if they are not from it.
   As long as their is not concequence for moronic action like that they will not learn.

10. What’s with fines? Vandals should be sentenced to repairing their own vandalism (at their expense) and then forced to also cleanup and repair other existing vandalism until some designated amount of hours are worked or damage is repaired. Make them understand what they did or at least get use out of them.
