On one hand I get it that people that are economically struggling (almost everyone) cling to old 90’s and 00’s diesels. They have excellent fuel economy and require minimal maintenance. So people drive these old beaters till the frame literally gives in. This is not about intentionally destroying the environment, this is about having absolutely no room for any extra expenses.
On the other I have absolutely no respect for assholes with new (less than ~7 years old) luxury big ass vehicles running large displacement diesels. These idiots then sit in traffic jams with a cold engine destroying both the environment and the vehicle in the process. That should not be allowed at all.
