Meanwhile I’ve installed a lovely bird bath which the birds have no interest in at all. It’s currently in its second location after giving it 4 weeks on the other side of the garden. They don’t like it on this side either.

I’ve got a couple flower pot trays in my backyard. They’re like a large rectangular baking dish. You fill them with water, and sit plants in them to keep them watered during hot days.
The birds absolutely love them! Every evening I have sparrows and black birds splashing around in them. Pigeons come in for a drink and sometimes get robins.
During Summer, I even get toads hanging out in them to have a soak.
Birds really love birdbaths!
