Ukraine Isn’t Anywhere Close To Running Out Of T-64 Tanks. Like Russia, Ukraine has enough old tanks for several more years of hard fighting.

  1. Yeah, it’s true, russia is now deploying ***T-54s***…

  2. It’s not the tanks but trained tank pilots that run out first.

Attrition over time becomes a bell curve as greener and greener troops take to the fight.

Fund Ukraine now with weapon superiority to wholesale destroy Russian tanks the way we did to Saddam’s in Operation Desert Storm.

    Slava Ukraini

  3. Tanks are obsolete but the T-64 might be obsolete for this battle.

  4. Anything written by David Axe should be disregarded.
Dude’s basically just parroting whatever is written by others in the armor community.
Typically with his own clickbait friendly spin, that’s usually completely wrong.

  5. >The expansion and partial outsourcing of the Ukrainian tank industry help explain why, after losing around 300 T-64s in combat, the Ukrainian military still has enough T-64s to maintain existing brigades and equip new ones.

oryx blog has 429 lost Ukrainian t-64s, and 3 recaptured so the article is wrong in this regard.

Also it doesn’t mention barrel life span, and how many replacement barrels Ukraine can produce.

  6. The Ukrainians have been upgrading their T64’s, building on what was already a solid platform. The T64 main gun has an auto lieder that can support longer apfsds projectiles than the T72, and holds 28 rounds to yhe T72’s 22. Both ate 125 mm smooth bore, but the T64 also loafs slightly faster. It also has respectable armor thickness, and with improved optics and ballistic computers, may actually be superior to the T72. The T80 was actually based on the T64. The fact that Ukraine has so many, and that many have been upgraded, while Russia is rolling out T54’s is fairly telling.

  7. Whelp, let’s wrap it up so no one ever needs to use them.

  8. At curent rate, maskovia will run out of tanks by 2026 top. Not all what they have can be used due to poor storing and scavenging because of corruption.
