Dagestan Terror Attack- What We Know So Far!
what do we know so far about the terror attacks in dastan I’m going to break down what’s known plus we are going to dig a little deeper and look into the situation that’s really going on inside the caucuses I’m Paul US Army Combat veteran let’s talk about it okay so this is a I’m I’m covering only what’s known and verified by legitimate news sources YouTube Don’t demonetize me please uh so there was yesterday a terror attack in quotation marks here on a synagogue churches and a police station in dogistan now dastan is a region of Russia and what I think is interesting about dastan uh there’s a bunch of things the caucuses are a very interesting mountainous region uh again between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea uh that are known as being both a hotbed of um islamist militancy but also uh of kind of anti-state sentiment more generally uh these are uh peoples that have resisted Domination by foreign powers for their entire history um and they really despite the Soviet Union’s best efforts to purge them from their homelands uh still never really uh lost control of their own uh homelands and and and so the dagestanis have an incredibly strong Warrior culture uh notably uh The dastani Neighbors in Chia um famously went toe-to-toe with the entire Soviet or post Soviet Russian army um exposing the Russians and driving them out actually uh and this this was immediately after the fall of the Soviet Union in the early 9s uh so the catchin again have a reputation of being Fierce Fighters you may also know that there’s a large number of prominent dastani uh mixed martial arts Fighters including several UFC Champions notably khabib Nur nurmagamedov and Islan Islam mahv and if you want an interesting story that I’m not going to cover here you should definitely dig into their ties to the Region’s government Governor uh including Ramon kadirov so but that’s not what we’re here for we’re here to cover the facts of this story and the dastani region has seen again yesterday what seems to be its largest terror attack in at least many many years 19 people have been killed actually the death toll recently Rose to 20 uh where armed men attacked a synagogue churches and a police post in dagistan right but uh this took place around 6 p.m. on Sunday um the attackers had automatic weapons targeting a synagogue an Orthodox Church in the town of derbent uh while there is a what they call an ancient Jewish Community uh in the mainly Muslim region um the gunman also went after a traffic police post uh about 75 miles north of derbent and generally when you see these kind of attacks taking place simultaneously it is a part of a coordinated effort um right uh there was some shooting supposedly there may have been a security guard in one of the religious sites um but it’s not really clear right now but they did say that of the 19 people killed 15 were police officers and only four were civilians which is also fairly interesting all right one of the civilians included killed included an orthodox priest um but the uh in there’s a bunch of interesting sort of aspects or layers to this um dastan for example one nobody’s claimed responsibility for the attack I think this is important um right and this says links with Isis cannot be ruled out which is probably the most milk toast way of speculation um but again usually Isis claims responsibility for its attacks in the case of the Moscow attacked uh Isis claims responsibility in a matter of hours the fact that they haven’t says that this probably isn’t them um right but the strangest part is the police station to me and the part that makes that interesting well let’s let’s let’s talk about dogistan for a minute right and then you we’ll talk about why this is so fascinating dagistan is notable for having a huge ethnic diversity right there are ethnicities that are represented at the state government level in dastan uh literally number nearly a avars dargin kumix lesians laaks aeran tabarin Russians cin no agles rutus ters and tots this is a uh qu Patchwork uh of different ethnicities that all have to collaborate and cooperate to govern the country or or there can be a few winners who sit on top of the country and basically dictate terms to the losers and that is generally uh what is considered the strategy that that Moscow has pursued they’ve picked winners winners that know that they will not be able to stay on top without Russian State support and Russia has externally sort of imposed their own leadership class on the region and the region of course uh has that’s one of the regions that you one of the reasons you see so many chesin fighting in Ukraine both because when the government comes and asks uh when Moscow came and and and demanded from the chin Hey listen we keep you in power we need you to provide us Manpower your military forces what’s also interesting is that the the the other side of the coin is that kadirov again in Chia I’m using but but understand the same Playbook occurs throughout the caucuses right uh the catchin the CH and leader said listen you can’t take all of my people because I’ve spent a lot of money training arming equipping uh and instilling loyalty in my State security apparatus my chin armed forces and he says you can’t ex like eliminate them liquidate them all in Ukraine because then no one will be around to keep me and my particular ethnic group or ethnic Coalition in power so normally I would sit there and say yeah they targeted religious sites it’s clear that it’s a it’s a it’s a a Muslim inspired or an Islam inspired terror attack right you’d say oh and you just dismiss it right but here’s the thing dastan does indeed have more terror attacks this is an article from 2017 but I think it remains true dagistan has more terror attacks in criminal incidents than even chatcha right surpassing chch as Russia’s most violent region and the conflicts are complex and sort of Tangled Up in North caucus ethnic conflict right now they say this article says the conflicts are less pronounced they were in the 9s um when a lot of ethnic groups finally weren’t being actively repressed and were able to sort of rekindle their in-group identity but you know that if you’re a proud tarar in the caucuses uh by definition if you’re proud of being a tarar uh you look down on other ethnicities that’s just how human be human being work that’s how in group psychology operates and so it creates conditions for increased ethnic grievances um right A lot of these conflicts it says are now supplemented by conflict between Islamic religious groups right there’s 60 a 60-fold increase in the number of mosques in dagistan in the last 20 years following the Soviet collapse which literally means there might be 60 mosques because the Soviets really didn’t permit much religious uh activity but Islam has become a more important factor in both public and the Republic’s everyday life and it’s divided the uh dastani society which this calls relatively homogeneous which again 12 ethnic groups into both Sufi Islam and moderate salafi supporters um and radical jihadists uh so this is kind of a layered conflict and here’s why I think there’s a little more to it is because you notice very few religious figures were killed in this right it was almost like one or two per sight which don’t get me wrong I’m not sitting here and saying it’s not a tragedy the loss of life is is a tragedy period full stop but the fact that for every one unarmed civilian who was killed uh what four armed police were killed in this attack that to me says that the message from this attack is actually targeted against the current state right that this was an attack against the state executed by someone who also has kind of Islamic jihadist style loyalties they said listen why do one and we can do both essentially right but the fact is that these churches and synagogues they weren’t burned down they weren’t targeted because remember they could have targeted these these religious sites at a time when they’re occupied it seems like they didn’t right they only appear to have targeted these sites at a time when they’re unoccupied the only occupied site they targeted was the police station so I actually suspect that perhaps this was an in meant to strike a blow against the ethnic group or Coalition that’s currently governing dagistan and that it was executed by someone who’s got a a a more stringent more radical interpretation of Islam so they said listen we’re going to hit these religious sites and we’re going to bait the police to come to us and then we’re going to execute our real objective which is damaging the security apparatus of the country and so that is what I think may have happened in this case again if there’s one thing that I learned in Afghanistan it’s that when you have these patchworks of tribal loyalties we think of like Afghans as Afghans but they don’t think of themselves that way they’re loyal to their family they’re loyal to their subtribe and loyal to their tribe and the the big flags like the Taliban or the government or the US forces those are flags that are almost like flags of convenience right so if the government said Hey in my region right we partnered primarily with the the Coalition again when they showed up they didn’t know any better they partnered with uh the Ali shael right the subtribe in in Nar Province so they said listen okay we’re working with the Aly shaale uh these guys have been Cooperative we’re going to help them be Governors because they’re easy to work with they do what they say right so you install them as as Regional kind of subg Governors or District commanders and such but then the Rival tribe the sepi says listen look you’ve put all of our rivals in leadership positions you’ve armed them you’ve given them command of the police and government infrastructure so they say well we need someone who’s going to support us in our conflict against them and they said well that would be the Taliban so suddenly they’re flying the Taliban flag is it because they believe what the Taliban believes no more than the uh uh other subribe the Ali shael believed in the um US forces don’t add me in the comments it’s been over 10 years so I may be confusing the names of the tribes I may have their loyalty switched but um that is the important part of the story is that some of these ethnicities May sit there and go oh yeah we’re loyal to Moscow uh we support the Russian Orthodox Church which is notable because it’s the it’s the de facto government uh religion in Russia so again targeted Orthodox Church is seen as a blow against uh the state as well as a blow against uh non-muslim religions so they may have said listen these ethnicities are loyal to the state they’re loyal to the Kremlin we are going to strike a blow at them because we are their enemies and therefore we are opposing all of these things just because the state stands for them anyway guys that is all I had um not going to shout out anything today but you guys know uh other than just a huge thank you to the colonel tier members that support the channel the lieutenant tier members I you guys make this channel possible I thank you so much and be sure to like the video and subscribe to the channel it does help see you

I think this is pretty much insignificant in comparison to the terrorist attacks that Russia commits every day
@4:52 There are still Avars? That's impressive. Romans, Vikings, Samurais, Huns. They're all gone. But the Avars are still here.
Man do you still have a hand? Every time a see your thumb nail you're eating your hand.
You know that Dagestan was colonized by Russia. Dagestanis aren't Russians at all, they have their own language ,culture, and majority of Dagestanis are Muslims. They aren't terrorists they just fighting for their independence from Russia. In Russia there are a lot of colonized ethnic minorities in Russia who have nothing in common with Russia mostly Asians and Muslims
Islam is the religion of peace in only fought and fights against:
Israel and the Jews
India and the Hindus
Cyprus
Serbia
Armenia
Yazidis in Syria and Iraq (genocide)
Christians in Nigeria (genocide)
Darfuris in Sudan (genocide)
Russia
China
USA
Phillipines
Feel free to add to this "impressive" list
Stick to military, not Police.
Do they think Putin is distracted enough right now to pull this off?
What we know is that there are 21 republics in the Russian federation. Russia is a bit distracted from the 21 that they have while trying to make it 22. Russia needs to be careful or the might end up with 20 republics instead. Ever hear the saying that a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush? You are stretching this out to 13 minutes, and I can sum it up in 13 seconds.
They definitely targeted religious buildings. To attack a synagogue and two orthodox churches in a muslim majority area indicates that they hunted down those buildings and attacked them.
Notably, an Orthodox priest was killed- one of only four civilians. It is well known that Russian Orthodox priests are all state operatives. He was probably murdered as a message to Moscow that spies are not welcome.
Russian Orthodox Priests aren't priests, they're trained by the FSB and are effectively propaganda agents of the Russian government. Killing the priest was more akin to killing a propagandist than a religious figure – though killing the Rabbi was still fucked up.
Putin loosing control about his terrorist. Bad for Russia, Great for the free World 🙂
Is it a terror atrack or people fighting for there personal frredom?
Errr, didn’t the terrorists behead the priest in front of his congregation?
It’s simple: orthodox church is a 100% occupier (Russia).
The head of the orthodox church is appointed by car. Today, by Putin.
This is not a joke. It’s fact.
This is why Moscow Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) has been outlawed in Ukraine.
Ukrainian orthodox church changed it’s affiliation from Moscow to Byzantine (Constantinople).
It’s all obvious now, what’s happening over there, right?
It’s an uprising against the occupier. Russia.
Dagestan has/had the greatest Freestyle wrestlers in history.
Currently we-USA- are maybe the best freestyle wrestlers-as a team-despite the fact that our wrestlers -wrestle HS/COLLEGIATE wrestling-with a different style
now called "folk style wrestling" which was a term near used when I wrestled-1964-1973 HS College-never heard that term.
In any case all the Russian wrestlers of note-were actually from Dagestan-Buvaisar Saitiev-perhaps greatest freestyle wrestler in history-from Dagestan-
He is now a politician-in the Russian "Duma/Senate/whatever" now-representing Dagestan-He was good beyond belief.
Our guy-BEAT HIM in Olympics-flat beat him-no fluke-just beat him-everyone can be beaten like the Okies said "never a horse that ain't been rode-never a rider that
ain't been Throwed". Branden Slade beat him-and safe bet-Brandon would agree-Saitiev-was a better wrestler-but not that day.
In any case-Dagestan-tough as nails-
Crazy how Russia started its little war to make America angry and all this happens… must be karma
Attacking police stations was a tactic of China , in Burma
I think all these observations are pretty significant. Thanks for digging into the details a little bit.
its been a while since we heard from garden troll kadyrov, was he banned from tik tok?🤣
I heard the security guard had a pepper ball gun.
Maybe they're trying to show how weak the local security is and trying to give example to others
Pitin still believing dagestan is crimea where everyone just surenders and not fight back… 😅
Stan countries are time capsules. Unfortunately their folks are also mobile and started to show up in Western Europe too. Islams borders are bloody, always were and always will be.
Hey Paul great theories in this video, thanks for the point of view..
Great information. The ..stans areas have been a hotbed for tribal unrest for thousands of years and it won't change soon.
In remote isolated mountanous regions tribalism has always been important.
"15 police officers and 4 civilians"?
Police officers are civilians…
Thanks Paul for the update 👍👍👍😊
Karma blyat
Thnks
TRASH CHANNEL AS ALWAYS JUST A REPEAT FROM WESTER MEDIA GARBAGE.
Like the puppets Putin set up in the Donbas region.
Yeah, in most terror attacks, the civilian deaths would significantly exceed the police deaths. That makes this story very suspicious.
The synagogue in Derbent was burned down.
Is Khabib ok?
Ever considered that this region might try to take over the whole russian imperial project. I only say this because they will end up with the only region with alive soldiers left.
Maybe soon to be Dagestan's Dagestan… Not ruzzia's.
Weird. An Orthodox priest in Russia recently said Russians can't die. IDK if he was from Dagestan though.
Free Dagestan
We dont actually know what was attacked. Afterall you are having to rely on Russia being truthfull. When has that ever happened?
hey bro just wanna say, be careful about the facebook popups appearing in your videos. the last thing you want are pro russian cyber attacks on your friends and family. I would strongly recommend blurring out anything like that.
Everywhere where russia clames to be the boss terror is coming up, refugess are starting to flee and so on. We germans know that, soviet-russian occupied East-Germany was a huge mess and millions of germans escaped before they built their fascist wall
@paul although it may seem like a terrorist attack with elements of isis in there, in reality it shows the growing backlash and anger in dagenstan and other minority regions that had the majority of heavily mobilizations and kia coming back from being used as canon fodder in ukraine. the white slavic regions have been left untouched relatively in the mobilization. the governors sons being involved shows you the growing anger at russian government at the huge numbers of deaths and casualties of young men from these minority regions.
The religion of peace strikes again 😮
Kadyrov is a traitor to Chechnya and Islam
Finally! An explanation and background, not just the same video looping over and over. Keep up the good work!
I tend to agree with our host. Bravo, good analytics!
Salutations from Sofia/ BG
From what I’ve read, the Russian Orthodox Church is more than just the religion of the government. Its structure is heavily integrated with the security apparatus of Russia, the priesthood are basically vetted and approved by the FSB, so attacking a church is akin to attacking the FSB.
Thank you
