This volunteer unit was formed at the beginning of 2022 by people who were unable to enlist in the army because they were too old or had some health issue that made it impossible, but who still decided to fight for Ukraine independently, facing not only the challenges of advanced age and health problems, but also the lack of resources that not being linked to the army entails. They work mainly with donated drones and rocket launchers, while they obtain their ammunition in different ways, sometimes receiving what is left over from the army Brigades, sometimes repairing damaged rockets previously considered unfit for use, something very laborious and certainly dangerous. For many, they are anonymous and they will never have the recognition that members of the army brigades have, but for those who know them, they are heroes who did not give up fighting for their country even without being accepted for this role.

I think they are used to confuse counter battery radar as well.

The US army has a name for these types of vehicles(that being pick up trucks with a gun in the bed) it’s called a “technical”. They’re not very common in Ukraine (for obvious reasons) so it’s kind of cool to see one that fires fucking rockets lol
