  2. Using asbestos near your vegetables is not that smart, nice garden but for the love of your lungs, get rid of that asbestos !

  4. We have basically the same saying in English. Although man is usually boy or girl, and Village is usually country but can be anything you want.

    You can take a boy/girl out of the country, but you cannot take the country out of the X.

    Country here usually meaning opposite of City not a particular state or Nation but even that’s adjustable.

    Also, I would think that those patches are a great way to reduce the stress from being in such a situation as they are.

    Just hope they didn’t cut those asbestos sheets but rather just dug them in. :S

  6. Asbestos cement slate (шiфер) is banned in many countries because the amphibole asbestos is a carcinogen. And you’ve made a vegetable garden out of it, facepalm

  11. We have similar phrases here too, like, “You can take the girl out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the girl.” That’s “country” as in rural, the sticks, unsophisticated.
