I mean… on the one hand it’s less than a pound a head… on the other hand it’s suggesting that the increased cost of _exporting produce from the UK to the EU_ is going to be passed on to UK consumers!?
EDIT: I am wrong!
This is delusional and disingenuous. While it says customers will pay for the additional effort, znd dare I say it red tape, the only British customers that will be affected are those living outside the UK.
Either way this affects UK consumers.
The extra costs UK producers have already faced, reduces their export potential, putting some out of business and/or needing to raise domestic prices. Also, if our exports fall, then it puts pressure on the GBP and a weaker pound means we pay more for everything.
The extra costs EU producers will face, may mean some stop shipping to the UK, while others increase their prices.
£60 million may not seem like much, but this is just one in a long list of additional costs UK consumers will have to bear as the consequences of Brexit/Covid and a totally inept government slowly come to fruition.
But Brexit is amazing, what about your sovereignty, blue passports, happy fish, 350 million a week for the NHS!!!

You had your fun with Brexit. Unfortunately you can’t eat racism…
Is it not already in place? The price rises I mean?
Went down farmfoods and there’s already mark ups of £5 on some of the deals.
