He’s due for a goal!
The way Brazil play, I’m not at all surprised. The guy is so isolated on the left with absolutely no support from midfield. Meanwhile, Paqueta and Rodrygo occupy positions too centrally when Vini is on the ball. Most teams just put multiple blocks on him and he cannot do anything.
He played as a striker against a defensive Costa Rica, with Rodrygo preferred on the left wing. He was also the first player to be substituted, which is a strange way to treat a future Ballon d’Or winner.
That Brazil NT coach is really well outside of his limits. It’s embarrassing how bad they play these days. Ronaldinho was sadly right. Half these players in that NT are way worse and low quality compared to anytime this century.
I don’t care at all about how Vini plays for Brazil. If it was up to me non of our players would play international football.
Some players are club players, and some are national team players.
The Brazil team is too young and their midfield lacks creativity and invention. It’s all up to the front 4 to create and finish. That said there’s an element of selfishness in the frontline too, everyone wants to be the GUY. And then there’s the “veteran” leadership. They’re all defenders/goal keepers. No midfield/attacking player is old/accomplished on the NT setting to get them in order.
Everyone obsessing over Vini & the Brazilian NT; meanwhile they drew 3-3 vs Spain recently, and we all know how good Spain has been looking so far in the Euros. Maybe they still need to find their form? If they don’t end up finding it, who cares if they get kicked out of the Copa América? It of course won’t help Vini’s Ballon d’Or chances, but he had a fantastic season for us and that’s what matters most to me.
I wonder how much impact a poor copa America performance will affect his ballon d’or push.
If there was no international football this year, he would have already secured it imo
