According to some Austrian news outlets, there was a technical error on the Epex Spot electricity exchange.

Tibber also has notified all it's flex tariff customers to avoid any unnecessary consumption on 26 June before 9:00 and after 17:00.

We're taking about 2,98€ and 2,35€ (not cents) per kWh at peaks correspondingly.

    Apparently they had to trade on a local level, per country. It shows how much Germany relies on others to generate the supply during the peak demand

    During the peak sun and wind the output is still as low as usual around 0,21€/kWh

  3. Thank you so much for making this post OP. I was about to shower and the price doubled, so I’ll be taking an ice cold shower xD and not using my pc in the evening. 3€ per kWh is insane.
