Russia says motorbike attacks help capture Ukrainian strongholds

Russia’s defence ministry has claimed that off-road motorcycles have helped seize Ukrainian positions on the eastern front where a string of towns and villages have recently fallen.

According to a Russian officer, five Russian soldiers were able to capture a single strongpoint near the town of Vuhledar using the vehicles.

“Because we did everything suddenly, they were taken aback, and we captured two of them immediately, while the rest ran away,” he claimed.

  1. Have the idiots seen the movie? There are no motorcycle attacks, no has assault rifles and they ride on roads. The story was done by morons so stupid they don't know motorcycles became a part of warfare as soon as they were invented. They eere used in WW I, and all sides used hundreds of thousa no ds in bc WW II. This is not journalism, just ignorance from dummys who don't do research.

  2. I used to hunt on motorcycles, but for a war zone? Terrible idea. Easy to spot. Loud. Cannot hear anything. Very vulnerable. Difficult to get rifle into action. Except for a quick getaway, BAD idea.

  3. During World War II, motorcycles played a significant role in military operations, serving as vehicles for messengers, reconnaissance, and even as mounts for machine guns. The German military, in particular, employed a variety of motorcycles. Here are a few notable examples:

    – **BMW R75**: This was a heavy motorcycle developed in the late 1930s for the Wehrmacht. It was used extensively on both the Eastern Front and in the North Africa Campaign. The BMW R75 could be equipped with a sidecar and sometimes mounted with an MG 34 machine gun¹.

    – **Zündapp KS 750**: Similar to the BMW R75, the Zündapp KS 750 was known for its heavy design and was used in various fronts including North Africa, Italy, and the Eastern Front. It featured two driven wheels, which provided better traction¹.

    – **FN M12**: Originating from Belgium, the FN M12 was used in the early days of the war. It had a twin-cylinder flathead piston engine and could reach speeds of up to 62 MPH. However, the German invasion of Belgium led to the confiscation of these motorcycles, and some were used by the German forces¹.

These motorcycles were part of a broader array of vehicles that were crucial to the mobility and flexibility of the armed forces during the war. They allowed for rapid movement and communication, which were vital components of the military strategies employed during that time.

  5. This reminds me of carjackers who try to outrun the police… radios are faster. Just like the carjackers find out.. kamikaze Drones AND radios are faster than dirt bikes.

  6. Russia pretends to be powerful, but after more than a year, has achieved very little. 500,000 of its own soldiers have already fallen. When will it be enough?

  7. I love that this is their success story. Before the war everyone thought Russia was a beast. But Russia is a paper tiger, proud of their motorcycle attacks 😂. The war is horrible though, guess I'm laughing to keep from crying.

  8. The world will be a better place without war but America instigate wars everywhere all over the world too bad, u said u created NATO because of Soviet Union now Soviet Union doesn't exist why is the evil empire called NATO still exist after the dissolved of Soviet Union?
