  1. —[Manchester United](https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/football/team/manchester-united/) are considering selling the naming rights to a refurbished Old Trafford or a newly-built stadium

—Sir Jim Ratcliffe seeks to drive up revenues to fund the project, while the club is also deliberating over substantial ticket price rises.

—-United have also held exploratory talks with major financial institutions, including Bank of America, as they explore a series of funding options to raise the capital required to cover a potentially multi-billion pound project.

  2. Just sell a hotel like Chelsea did.

    PSR just works

  3. INEOS Stadium, theatre of dreams…. has a ring to it actually.

  4. Do it. Need the extra funds to fund the renovation. Similar to Spotify camp nou

  5. What’s stopping Jim from setting up a company called Old Trafford and selling them the naming rights? Assuming he was willing to put his own money through it

  6. It’s sounding more and more like he’s in it for the revenues because what’s better than money? More money.

  7. He’ll still be the guy who played a key part in keeping the Glazers in charge. But because he’s British, there’s no scrutiny from the media. Time will tell what a horrible mistake this will be.

  8. Can we name it after a roofing company and have them fix it

  9. ‘The Simpsons’ Stadium – successful in the 90s but standards dropped over time – d’oh

  10. Won’t be surprised if Jim calls it Brexit Trafford or Stamford Trafford

  11. *Buisness people consider making money*

It’d be wierd if they didn’t consider it at all

  12. Same people demanding we spend 100m on individual players are mad about this.

  13. Man Utd fans will now maybe realise Glazers at control was not bad thing except for the transfers.

  14. I bet if the owner was some middle eastern guy there’s gonna be massive outrage. But it’s ok since he’s british.
