7. The problem is not him competing in the olympics, it’s him not being in jail. In principle if he served his lawful sentence he should be allowed to participate. On the other hand why the fuck a child rapist get so little jail time,he should be inside not outside.

11. I mean, it’s just weird that they chose him to represent the Netherlands. Like, that’s not a good image at all. But yeah, on paper, nothings prevents an ex convict from being on the olympic team.

12. Appearently he was convicted, got sentenced and did his time. In NL (at that time) every convict received 1/3 credit. What i read is that he,was released after 12 months (After being in pre-trail detention in the UK).

    He did his time, and restarted his life.

    You might not be happy with the duration of his prison sentence, but that is the way it was (it has changed recently). Today these credits are no longer automatic.

    I really hope the 12 years old girl (now about 22 years old) is doing well now, that is my main concern.
