I am not asking this from a tin foil hat perspective, but more so as a genuine question. I recently saw a news article that said that any posts/likes that support "terrorism" will be used as fuel to determine the deportation of an individual.

However , can the government constantly monitor my activity online ? Don't get me wrong, I am not personally concerned by this rule, since I dont side with such beliefs anyways. However, it appears a bit unethical if the government gets to decide what can and cannot be determined as terrorism. If the current reigning party feels threatened they can even monitor criticisms to their administration online and declare some parts of it illegal for discussion.
Am I overthinking this, or does this step seem more of an authoritarianism type of thing ?
