TikTok-er pushes the REORDER button on a month's worth of groceries that he purchased from Walmart in 2022 and the price has more than tripled since then.
2022: $127
2024: $414 (+225%)

That doesn’t mean inflation isn’t at 3%…
So to be clear, you don’t understand what inflation is?
You have the right to be outraged and SHOULD be outraged OP. Companies are price gouging because they can.
Holy fuck this is dumb
Every frickin day with this crap. Is this place not moderated? or just moderated to remove opposing opinions?
My weekly family grocery bill us up maybe 15% over the last couple of years and that’s annoying enough. There may be some substitution influencing that but suggesting 3x+ is utterly divorced from all reality for someone buying stuff like wheat thins and fritos. You either don’t pay your own bills, or you are having groceries delivered to your research facility in the Arctic.
Also we use curbside pickup so I can see orders going back to 2020. The above estimate isn’t a “feel”.
Edit: I just tried it. Went to June 2022 and reordered the same $230 cart. Now $247. That’s a lot less than I expected.
What’s up with the shills in this post? lol economy is dogshit idk how people defend it
God I hate to say it but any media not worth 1 billion should taking as seriously as a guy in his car making a rant on TikTok.
Who the fk is Citizen Free press. I can’t find the names of journalists. The address of the place.
Lol look at their high end web page.
Go click the link it is just more text links. This is not news not a discussion of the economy put this in a cring sub.
Since the Feds confiscated all that rent fixing evidence I’ve noticed the price of almost everything dropping like a rock. Thank you Biden administration for reminding the billionaires they are subject to the rule of law!
Wonder what it was a month ago, rather than two years ago.
Stop listening to dumb shits on tictok.
These corporations were all lying together to steal from all of their customers.
Now they are suing each other after finding out that they were being gouged too.
Liars and thieves are the same people folks.
This is dumb…. source: “just trust me bro”
-no date on previous order.
-no proof he pressed “reorder”, instead of just making a new shopping list.
-even if true, no itemized breakdown, who knows what was in that shopping cart, there are items that vasty fluctuate based on supply and demand: i.e. specialty alcohol like a specific vintage of wine.
– Does this man only eat non-perishables?
– why was he just randomly going through his old shopping cart? Sounds like he was hungry for some content.
Anyone that pays bills, buys groceries, homes, autos, rent, ETC knows this.
I’ll throw you a bone, inflation data isn’t perfect it’s a basket of price changes. Sometimes it’s overweighted and underweighted just depends on how you calculate it. Some metrics include things like carrots and tires which had different price changes during the past few years. Carrots probably went up by 30% where as tires maybe 2%. So it’s not like it’s a hard value for everything it’s a gauge on the economy.
Holy shit OP. Tell me don’t know how inflation works without telling me you don’t know how inflation works. Looking at your post history, you seem to be a Russian OP.
I’m sorry don’t need this propaganda I go shopping every week. This isn’t accurate.
Inflation sucks so hey lets reward Trump or Biden that got us here with the Presidency 👌
This is really how you get your news? This is how you fork your opinions on the world? From some random person on social media?
You don’t understand what inflation is or how it is calculated.
You don’t know what you are talking about, so you should stop.
Bs. No way it has tripled
Why are 17 day old accounts allowed to deceive this sub?
TikTok is all you have to know about this idiotic post
Bad bot
I am not smart enough to know what prices were three years ago, but I am smart enough to look at current prices and know that things were not 1/3 of that three years ago.
So you think that because prices have increased so much over 3 years inflation can’t be 3% now? Do you know how inflation works?
