    I really don’t think the historical Saxon invasion thing makes sense. It’s more than likely that the SE coast had seen Germanic settlements for centuries before hand, not to mention the Germanic mercenaries employed by the Romans.

    I do genuinely wonder if Post-Roman East Anglia and Kent already were already a growing seperate entity, hence why Vortigern offered them their independence in the first place.
