Many Assyrian Christian Churches in the Middle East (especially in Syria and Iraq) have been destroyed in the wars and have not been rebuilt yet
It’s definitely not a bad thing to help out and invest in the local Assyrian communities which have been through a lot in the last few decades
A school for a Middle Eastern religion in the Middle East is nothing weird

Christianity is the religion that stay at the bottom
of Europe.
Europe without christianity will fall like Roman Empire without politeism falled
Well because France has historically ties with middle east… since the crusades… She still possesse some church and title overthere from that time.
And if you want to laugh even more, just know that the other country that compete with France overthere to “defend/protect christian” overthere is… Russia, and they never stopped doing it even during communism.
So yeah nothing new. Don’t realy think Macron could realy do otherwise. This is kind of expected from most french, a little bit like when he went in Lebanon after the explosion.
Because there is no way the muslim dominated Arab countries are going to pay to help the dwindling Christian communities.
Close muslim mosques in your own country but fund Christian churches in another continent.
Claim it’s not Islamophobia. Some absolute mental gymnastics.
Because France is a radical catholic christian nation masquerading as a secular one.
