Vote cast in error allows Spain labour reform to squeeze through parliament

  1. Unbelieavable scenes, the vote was supposed to end in a razor thin majority in favour of the proposed labour reform, however:

    -2 MPs voted “No”, even though there was an agreement between their party and the party that proposed the law change to approve it. In normal circumstances, this would’ve made the reform not pass BUT;

    -1 MP from the main opposition party (right wing Partido Popular) voted “Yes” in an apparent misclick, being the only person in his party not to vote against the reform, and thus resulting in a 175 to 174 vote majority for “Yes”.

  2. What an iconic moment. 2 people voted no against their party’s wishes (they were supposed to vote yes) yet thanks to a supposed error by another parliament member it goes through anyways.

    For real now, Im very happy it made it through. Not only is it a good reform by itself, but it’s needed to unlock the billions of the Corona relief thingy.
