Idk if knowing the type of bee will help, they move too quick for me to try and get the right colours. But If anyone has any advice that would be amazing! Thanks
I got swarmed by bees last night and wake up to many around my back door. Has anyone got any advice?

Queen and colony looking for a new home possibly?
Have a search for local beekeepers and reach out
Bees around your back door made me giggle.
Waking up to bees around your back door is just something you don’t need.
A swarm of wasps once suddenly flocked to my balcony. In that case i was able to see, that their queen was stuck between two panels of the balcony flooring. After flicking her out of there with an extendable flyswatter, she and her swarm eventually took off
Maybe they are around your back door as they heard its the place to bee!
More alarming than the bees, is that Bigfoot inside your door?
Don’t worry.
Bee happy
The queen might have got inside your house somehow and they’re trying to reunite with her
Tell them to buzz off.
More than likely, their queen has gotten herself stuck under one of your roof tiles or behind those wooden panels. People have driven swarms around in their car because the queen was trapped in it somewhere. Find a bee person to help or dress up in something bee proof and go rescue a damsel in distress. Or let them stay for the 3 or so years it could take for her to die
Are you sure they are a bee and not a wasp? If you are getting swarmed by wasps there is a decent chance the bastards have started building a nest somewhere nearby. Possibly underneath whatever that is in front of the door. If you find a nest check if your council offers a pest removal service. I was pleasantly surprised how cheap it was to get a nest removed last summer. Certainly less than I would have charged!
Stop bathing in honey.
Let them in.
I remember once there was a swarm of bees around a bush in my parents garden feckin loads of them. Called a beekeeper – he came over in his suit, stared at it for ages and ages and then in an instant stuck some claw net thing in and caught the queen. The rest followed. Was mad to watch. He stuck her in some box with a hole in it and they all just flew in on their own.
I’d check to see if a queen is close by, if not, call a bee keeper who will be able to gladly assist you. Please don’t call a pest control or use measures to kill them.
You are now their overlord, so time to get used to it and embrace your new life as Head Bee and hopefully use your newfound bee powers for good rather than evil.
Seriously though, get in touch with a local beekeeper, there’s more than likely a queen somewhere and they’ll have them out of there quickly without harming them.
Definitely search for a local beekeeper, really don’t want them setting up permanently in your house
Okay, we have bees make a nest somewhere on our house (roof, outhouse or rear shed) or the neighbours, at least once a year. The nests only usually last 2-3 weeks and then they will disappear.
My advice is do what we do and just leave it alone. The bees will not harm you unless you try to literally reach in and disturb the nest. It looks alarming because they can tend to swarm a little outside the entrance to the nest as the males try to get in and try to mate with the queen (what we was told before).
The bees are great for gardens, won’t hurt or disturb anyone and will be gone within about 3 weeks max. You can safely ignore them and just leave them alone. Save your time and effort, there is very little anyone would do for a usual small and tiny nest anyways, short of actually destroying it, which is totally unnecessary.
Knowing where they like to nest, I am pretty sure the little nest will be under the lead flashing where your outhouse roof meets the main brick wall to the house, as they like little overhangs to get under. This is almost the exact same position before that they have nested in our house.
If you can ascertain they are actually bees and not wasps (which ARE more of a pest). then just leave them and let them finish their nest cycle. If it really bothers you, you can always close the gap under the lead flashing after they have left to help prevent them getting in next year, They do like to come back to old nesting sites so you will likely get these little friendly pollen spreaders, year after year.
I really miss them when they go, they look great spreading their pollen all over the flowers in our garden!
Whatever you do just Bee careful!
Local beekeeper. They will come and take them away for free.
They are known to sometimes do this, you’ve probably seen pictures of swarms on cars or zebra crossings – the Queen can apparently only travel short distances at a time so you end up with that, they should usually move on though on their own
You can always try a bee keeper
Been a strange couple years not seen any bees at all here, where as previously you would always find the odd stranded one needing some sugary water put out to help them on their way
Stop covering yourself in honey
Do not use a hammer to combat them.
It is ineffective as a weapon, carries the potential to cause collateral damage, and risks enraging the beasts.
I have a small amount of bee keeping experiance so may know the answer to this. If the bees swarmed there last night and have since buggered off then a few of the stragglers may not know the new location of the colony. The remaining bees will stick to where they can smell where the queen was and will hang around there. They will be harmless but will probably die soon since they are separated from the colony and are not collecting food.
Or they are now living in your house. You’ll know soon enough, in which case call a bee keeper and they will gladly take them.
Your home insurance may include Home Emergency Cover which could cover issues regarding pests or infestation.
Have you tried apologising?
Advice? You’ll get free honey if you wear a bear suit.
I understand that a brown bear suit is the way to go
I could suggest a new hive for them and some smoke
Beads?
Buzz them in
