On this day, the 4th of February 1961. The Portuguese Colonial war began, the 13 years war was a decisive ideological struggle in Lusophone Africa, surrounding nations, and Portugal itself. It eventually resulted in the independence of Portugal’s remaining colonies and the end of the Estado Novo.
